Since 2018, Barkbound has been the trusted choice for dog boarding and daycare in the greater Portland area. Our mission is to provide dogs with the highest standard of care, socialization, and comfort while giving their owners peace of mind. Founded by certified animal behaviorist Sarah Chen, Barkbound combines professional expertise with genuine love for dogs.
Our 5,000-square-foot facility includes climate-controlled sleeping areas, spacious play yards, and separate spaces for dogs with different temperaments. Our Services
Daily Daycare
Bring your dog for a day of supervised play, socialization with other dogs, three meals and fresh water, and structured activities. Perfect for working professionals who want their pups to stay active and happy.
Overnight Boarding
Extended stays with cozy sleeping areas, regular bathroom breaks, playtime, and morning wake-up routines. Your dog gets 24/7 care from our trained staff in a secure, comfortable environment.
Training Programs
Basic obedience, leash training, and behavioral coaching from our certified trainers. We focus on positive reinforcement to build confidence and improve your dog's social skills during their stay.
Transportation
Convenient pickup and dropoff service within a 10-mile radius. We ensure safe, gentle transport in our climate-controlled van. Pickup as early as 6 AM, dropoff as late as 7 PM.
Grooming Services
Basic baths, nail trims, and ear cleaning available during stays. Our grooming team is gentle and experienced with anxious or senior dogs, making the experience stress-free.
Special Needs Care
Dedicated support for senior dogs, anxious dogs, puppies, or those with medical needs. We administer medications on schedule and provide extra attention and monitoring as needed.

Daycare rates start at $35 per day. Overnight boarding is $50 per night. Multi-day discounts apply for stays of 5+ days. Transportation adds $10 per trip. Training add-ons and grooming are billed separately. Contact us for custom packages.
We're open 7 days a week, 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM for daycare drop-off/pickup. Overnight boarding is available any night. We're closed only on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. Special holiday arrangements can be made with advance notice.
Yes, all dogs must be current on DHPP and rabies vaccinations. We accept records from your veterinarian. Dogs must also be free of contagious skin conditions and intestinal parasites. A health form is completed at check-in.
We specialize in anxious and reactive dogs. Meet with our team to discuss your dog's needs. We may recommend a trial daycare session, behavioral coaching, or a customized care plan. Puppies and dogs with aggression require a consultation before booking.
Absolutely. We encourage you to bring your dog's regular food. Label all containers clearly. We administer medications on schedule at no extra charge for routine medications. Special handling or injection training may incur additional fees.
